Episode 1 The Walking Dead

What can I say about a game that plays like a graphic novel other than AWESOME! I completed the first episode, and automatically wanted more. The story line was A +, and the amount of choices you make through the game is amazing. I would restart certain parts after completion, just to see what the consequences would be right after making the choice. I love the fact that these choices make a difference in future episodes.
Here is a brief overview of what the next episode will bring, plus a chance to learn more about choices affecting future episodes. http://t.co/xY3i9FLB
I think the animation in the game is what originally drew me  in, I felt as if I was inside a comic, and had choices to make to see what the next cell would be. This may be a turn off for some gamers along with the actions which you control with a set of crosshairs.
All in all though, I found some points where psychologically I felt compelled to do one thing, but from a survival stand point, I had other choices to make.
The characters you interact with also are affected by your actions, poor little Clementine could watch you lie your way around, or put her in situations where she would feel uncomfortable with you. If you have ever seen the AND series The Walking Dead, you would have immediately picked up on Glenn, a series regular being in the game.
The game in my book is a great addition to any library, and I can't wait for the next episode.

The Walking Dead: A new day...

Tonight I will be playing the new series on the PlayStation 3, visit here for the official site.

I ain't scared of no zombies, but I still may play this with the lights on...only because it is bad for your eyes to stare at the TV in the dark. Yeah, that's why.

MORE Kingdoms of Amalur

We left off with weapon creation in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
on our last post about it. I would like to dive deeper into weapons, armor, and sagecrafting in this post. When I first started playing, I automatically started with blacksmithing, as I did in Skyrim. The first thing I noticed was the ability to level up by completing a few weapons was not there. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimallowed you to level up whatever skill you were using, and upgrade through levelling up to get better armor classes you could build. Kingdoms of Amalur worked in a few more opportunities to create the weapon you wanted, without enchanting it, but did not allow you to hone your skills on blacksmithing unless you levelled up. I liked the fact that you could change handles, fulcrums, shafts, and such to create unique weapons and armor, sadly though all of the weapons looked the same unless they were already pre-made items the creators thought up. I would have loved to have seen a menu where you could choose a variety of looks for your weapons, especially if you had your blacksmithing all the way up.
Combining different pieces could help your character out in many ways, for example Robust Rivets give a plus to both health and managers. Also, I am a huge fan of using both poison and fire for most of the enemies in the game.
(Quick hint, use shock on the prismere trolls, this saved me a ton of time instead of dodging, slashing, dodging, arrow, dodge....)
After working through part of the game, I kept finding shards of crystals, and finally realized that in order to maximize weapons and armor, I needed to work on my sagecrafting. I started first by just creating small jewels, using the cloudy shards which gave me small boosts to whatever I was creating.
I then started collecting more shards, and combining them, increasing the way effects of previous trials for gems. I will post a few of the shard effects on my next post, to make it easier for you to find which way you want to go, and what you need to get there.
Gem combinations along with weapon creation can give you an explosive combination. For example, say you put an increase of 10% more damage with Ice on your armor, 10% increase on your weapon, and put a gem into your weapon that causes 20 damage from ice. Now your weapon automatically does 24 damage!
Increases like this can make the game easier, and you can get a few more quests done earlier to level up faster. I will post some of my attempts at weapons,  and also a few screenshots of my character to show what I have been doing.

Call of Duty: BLACK OPS 2

As you may know now, the new Call of Duty will be coming out Nov. 13th, 2012. This is typical of the series, as they like to come out around the holiday rush to gain more sales. I have played most of the titles from Treyarch concerning Call of Duty, and for the most part enjoyed them all.
If you missed the trailer last night on TNT during the NBA playoffs, then check this link out for more information, a trailer, and the official site for Black Ops 2.
For those that have never played Black Ops, this will not keep you in the dark as to what went on in the first.  The Trailer clearly shows a future war being fought, while the first Black Ops was based on today and the past.
I am looming forward to some improvements in Black Ops 2, and will keep you posted as more comes up!
Shoot me an email, if you have any questions, and keep gaming!
